Hello beauts! I recently found about about the Boots testing panel and signed up quicker than you would probably believe – trialing out different products for free, and filling out a little survey on my thoughts? Yes pleasee. Someone on a beauty chat on Facebook shared the link so I hopped at the chance – I don’t have it to share but I’m sure you can find it with a bit of googling! (Edit – here’s the link!)
Any one can sign up to the Boots testing panel – you just need to fill out an initial survey talking about little details like your age, gender, skin type, sensitivity and more. From then, you’re put on a system and they’ll email you when opportunities come along; for example, if you’ve stated you have acne prone skin and they have a new clearing facial wash coming up, you’ll likely get an email. From this, you fill out another little form – most of the questions are aimed at the particular products they’re testing to find out if you’re suited. If you are, you’re likely to be sent a product – woop!
This was the second time I filled out a survey and the first time I was sent something – the very generously sized bronzer shown above. The letter that comes with the product tells you how many times to use it before reviewing, and what conditions under. You don’t find out about the brand even after reviewing – which is really annoying because what if you love the product!?
I found this bronzer pretty snazzy, but nothing special above the rest of the bronzers I use. It stays a fair amount of time and looks fairly natural on, but there’s nothing too unique about it – and I did find it had a funny smell. (Like it was pretending to be cocoa powdery/chocolatey like Too Faced or Bourjois, but failed massively and smells plasticy and fake – not the best!) That being said, I do like and will continue to use the mystery bronzer, and I’m so happy to have had the opportunity to join the Boots testing panel; I will 100% be taking part more in the future!
