I was so fricken thrilleddd to be sent a huge box of deliciousness from the lovely people at Degustabox*, and I couldn’t wait to share it with you eeek! I am a crazy food lover in every form, so a monthly subscription box showing me a host of new brands and products could never be turned down in my eyes – lets dig in…
I received thirteen little gems, I hadn’t tried one of the products included – and only tried two of the brands. I love this, I feel like there is sometimes too much food to choose from when shopping. Don’t get me wrong, I love the choice and always buy way too much of it – but sometimes there is literally just too much to choose from. I reckon I miss out on some really good brands due to the fact it would be impossible to try everything out – so I love the idea of being sent products tailored to your tastes every month.
The two most exciting products for me were definitely the sweet stuff. I have a serious sugar addiction, (although in all fairness in a strong balance with savoury – I just eat way too much of everything!) so the popcorn and waffles made my mouth water as soon as I saw them! I’d never heard of or even thought about yogurt coated popcorn before – pretty damn strange, but my god it’s good!! I knew the moment I saw the Belgian Butter waffles I would love them, as this is something I tend to go for in coffee shops etc. Nomnomnom.
The Zeo cloudy lemon is made with 98% spring water, blended with lemons and essential oils; I really love the packaging and I just think it looks so fresh and funky! Lovveeee. Also for drinks, a ‘big and bold’ lager – as much as I’m not a lager girl I’ll be giving this a shot as it looks prettay snazzayy. My box also had the most indulgent looking brownie chocolate mix in the world – this is so strange to me, but you make a ‘rich and velvety Belgian chocolate brownie, baked in a mug, in the microwave in under 2 minutes!’ Strange huh? Nothing beats a warm, gooey brownie though so I cannot wait to give this a whirl!
The smooze mango and coconut fruit ice looks way too good to me – my whole family wants to dig in the second it freezes over ah! These ices are made from all natural ingredients including 40% coconut milk, and 50% fruit juices and puree – 100% vegan. As the weather is being ridiculously (occasionally!) hot here in England, this will be the most perfect treat. If they taste as good as they look I will 100000% be buying more to cool down with through the summer.
I’m really excited to have the coconut milk as I’ve always wanted to incorporate it into more recipes but never really set out to do so. Being given a can is definitely going to give me that push – and I plan to incorporate this one into a healthy milkshake with cacao powder and other little goodies – I’ll keep you updated on how that goes!
I feel like you can never have enough sauce or flavourings (or any food for that matter,) in your cupboard. I’ve only ever had tomato relish as a child and was never a fan, but I feel like my taste buds have grown a fair amount since them, so I’m more than happy to give this Branston relish a go! I love the addition of chilli and jalapeno – I feel like this will be really yummy on some (veggie in my case!) burgers.
Pesto + pasta = happy Emma. I’ve never actually tried this brand before but I love the mini pots – I feel like that will make it soo much easier to get just one portion at a time, but also must be a lot fresher and handier; seeing as you don’t have to reopen and close a jar a few times throughout its life. Finally, I will be using the burger mix to create some tasty veggie burgers. (yep, it’s vegetarian!) It’s supposed to make them tastier and juicier so I’ll definitely fill you in on how that goes – I may even add the relish to these ones and have a whole lotta new at once!
The angel hair noodles are floating around in some scary fluid which I have to say is kinda creepy, but due to the fact they are ridiculously healthy, good for you and low in calories, I will definitely be adding these to some veggies and trying them out!
Finally, I have to say the onions look a little scary and not really my thing, but as suggested – they would work well as an addition to a cheese board or in a BBQ salad. I feel like incorporated into this I will be happy to give it a go, so we’ll see what happens haha!
Overall, I am really really happy with Degustabox! I think the variety of food is incredible and for only £12.99 a month (including delivery, cancel at any time,) this is something everyone should try! To get a ridiculous £7 off, use the code ‘BLDEG15’ – meaning you can get one of these boxes for £5.99 – that is crazayy. Now excuse me while I stuff my chops.
