As the sun has finally poked her head out of the clouds I am getting a serious case of wander-lust, so have been hunting to find the best deals online. As a student, I do have to be careful with money and I obviously can’t splurge a bucket load on trekking anywhere extravagant – but with that being said, there are some amaaazing deals out there! The best ones I’ve found throughout my holiday-hunting life (I do literally sit there and research for fun haha,) are usually European breaks, so I wanted to share with you my holiday plans for this year, and a great website you can use to land some of these deals – Sunshine.
Sunshine is such an easy website to use and has some great aspects for pinpointing a bargain – you can choose to add as many departure airports as you want – so if there are a few near you, you can find the best deal without trawling through different airlines’ different websites. Another feature I love about the website, is a little part that tells you what countries are hot in different months – you can literally track the sunshine year-round which I absolutely looooove.
After weighing up the prices for lots of different destinations, me and my boyfriend settled on Malta for this year – where we’ll be going in late April! We had a look at what countries we could afford, and then got on Google and TripAdvisor researching the things we could do in each place (I say we, but it was definitely all me 😉 .) We have yet to go on a particularly beachy holiday together so looking at the crystal clear seas and amazing prices (hiring a car here is the cheapest place I have seen anywhere in the world!) we were sold!
One of the top things to do on our to-do-list is visit the Blue Lagoon – which I find weird saying because I’ve only been to the blue lagoon in Iceland and I adore it there – I know there are a few ‘blue lagoons’ dotted around but it’s still a little strange for me haha! (I am obsessed with Iceland entirely.) The waters here are completely clear and I can’t wait to have a paddle. Throughout our week here we plan to hop in our car and travel everywhere, get our walking boots on, lounge around in the sun and sea, and have a few too many cocktails. (That’s probably more accurately my life motto ahha!)
I would definitely have a look at Sunshine if you’re on the hunt for a good deal, or even to get some great info about what countries are hot when. You can also look at car hire, parking, transfers and insurance all in the same place. I can’t wait to fly away super soon now – expect a bombardment on posts and pictures on Instagram. (@emmasivess !) Are you planning a break any time soon or this summer? What are your dream destinations?
