It has been SUCH a long time since I’ve received a good beauty box – my beauty box section of Anomalous Me is seriously dwindling at the moment ahhh! Luckily for that lonely tab though, Latest in Beauty released the most gorgeous Disney beauty box, and I am in love. The main thing (1000000%) to draw me in was the packaging, it is genuinely my idea of perfection; just loooook at it. The box is a decent sized, patterned, book-looking thing (descriptive blogging at its finest,) which you open to find a booklet, red rose petals and deep blue packing.
This box comes with seven products and five discount codes – I really like that beauty boxes include these for if you discover a serious gem of a product. The products include hair, skin care and nail varnish in a nice mixture. I always think with beauty boxes you find things you love and things you could go without quite early on, but for me that’s really the point of trying them out – a good few times in the past I’ve been introduces to products I never would have previously tried but now loooove.
The one thing I could have gone without really was the mirror; it is cute and all but I have so many pocket mirrors and this isn’t the best quality/prettiest. (I’ll probably be giving this away!) The first thing to catch my eye in a good way was the Burt’s Bees lipstick. I’ve liked everything I’ve tried from this brand and I’ve lucked out on the shade as it compliments my colouring beautifully! It’s really moisturising yet carries a good pigment and doesn’t smudge – I want this in every shade available. I also knew the Lo’occitane moisturiser would be amazing – they definitely know how to do moisturisers! I’m generally not a rose-fragranced kinda gal but I really get on with this version so I’ll definitely be using it all up. It’s made me want to try out more moisturisers from this brand also – but that department is one I don’t need to develop too much at the moment ahha! (I’m a literal hoarder.)
I don’t really wear reds on my nails (and always tend to receive red shades in beauty boxes!) But seeing as I’m going to a Gatsby party on the weekend I may make the most of this shade and vamp up my outfit. I am looking forward to trying out the brand though as I’ve never heard of it before and it looks really pretty. I know Caudalie isn’t the cheapest brand but this sample is pretty teeny – although I’ve found a little does go a long way. The product has a really clean, muted-fresh scent and carries a gel texture that vanishes quickly on your skin like the Clinique moisture surge product. I do really like this one – I would have just preferred a slightly bigger size! 😉
I wasn’t expecting it, but after use the most exciting product is absolutely the Gatineau radiance enhancing gommage, I already know this will be a product I repeatedly buy. It starts as quite a lubey gel, which you then rub into your skin for a couple of minutes to warm up and turn into a much more oily texture. It takes off the top layer of skin, exfoliating and stripping of the old gross stuff – leaving it looking radiant and so so soft. Seriously, this is amaaazing and I can’t wait to trial the whole bottle and get back to you on this!
Overall I am really happy with this box – I probably wouldn’t have bought it if it wasn’t for the Disney branding, but I’m definitely not complaining as it contains some great products!
