Trying out a new haircare brand | Purepotions

Hello you beauts! I’ve recently been trailing out a new haircare brand, Purepotions. I usually go for brands I can get in the supermarket for ease, but I have become increasingly aware of certain ingredients in these products which aren’t great for your hair – and I do wonder if some of these ingredients make your hair reliant on the products. (Like your hair can get greasier quicker etc.; just google people who have gone shampoo free and you’ll see the difference that can be made when you cut out these products!) I’m definitely not brave enough to cut out shampoos altogether, but I do want to go more natural with a lot of my beauty routine – which is where Purepotions’ shampoo and conditioner* come in.

Both the shampoo and conditioner are natural products made in the UK, with no harsh synthetic ingredients, making them amazing for skin conditions and itchy, flaky scalps. I don’t tend to have issues with my skin but I do feel like the longer you use harsh products the more likely these problems are to arise. The fact they aren’t perfumed did make me a bit nervous at first because I like my hair to smell delicious after washing it, but these are still gorgeously scented – kind of lemony with a hint of greenery (weird way to describe it πŸ˜‰ ) which I loooove.

The brand describes their products as “perfect for anyone who wants to simplify and detoxify their haircare routine, as well as those with sensitive skin wanting to avoid chemical irritants in their toiletries,” and to be honest I think this is pretty spot on. I couldn’t speak for the people who have used these products with skin issues, but there are loads of great reviews from these people. In terms of going more natural with beauty purposes, I’m 100% there and feel like the more natural ingredients and processes we can use the better for the planet and ourselves.

I would definitely say using these products gave my hair a comparable result to using my normal shampoo and conditioners. The shampoo doesn’t lather as much (which they do let you know beforehand,) as it’s so natural, but as long as you work it in and spread it around the end results are very similar. I’ve really enjoyed using these two little gems and I’ll definitely be repurchasing. If you’re interested in getting more natural with your beauty routine then these are definitely worth giving a try! You can buy the set on QVC at the moment here.
