Current skincare faves | A whole lotta pink

It’s been a long time – literally years since I’ve written anything particularly in-depth about skincare. I think because I don’t have the best skin in the world I find it quite hard to talk about skincare because I feel like seeing as my skin hasn’t magically become completely clear and perfect maybe I haven’t found the perfect products. But actually, my skin just isn’t  – and won’t be (*sob*) perfect, but despite this there have still been products that have improved my skin and made me a lot happier with it. So without further ado, here are my current skincare loves!

Firstly I’ve really been loving the Body Shop’s vitamin E range. I was gifted these by my best friend and her family last Christmas I think, and I started properly using them a couple of months ago. I love the fact these products are cruelty free and they really work well together as a 3-step treatment. They have a really nice, muted, fresh (slightly sweet) scent and all of these products really sink into your skin. I also love the fact this is a three-step thing as you just can’t miss a step – it feels wrong aha! I think the toner is probably my favourite product of the three, it feels really refreshing and tightening for my skin – but with that being said these products do go so well together so for me it’s definitely an all or nothing kinda thing.

I’ve only recently bought the nivea cleansing cream wash, but I seriously love it. It was so cheap from Sainsbury’s and so thick and creamy that you really don’t have to use much – amazing value for money. It also smells exactly like the Body Shop’s vitamin E range as shown above and fits in really nicely with those products.

I’ve recently used up my second tube of the Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser and have loved every pump of this, so although I’m not using this as we speak (type,) it had to be included. I feel like I did have less breakouts when using this little gem. (But I know for me at least, that also depends on a million other factors.)

You’ve already heard about the micellar water from Garnier 1000 times over, so I don’t need to go into too much detail here. I mainly love this product for taking off my eye makeup – which it’s amazing for. I’ve tried a lot of micellar waters, and I find the others don’t work as well, often have a really oily residue and sometimes sting my eyes a bit. All of Garnier’s micellar waters are actual life savers and work perfectly well. I’m in love with these completely. (And I’ve bought at least 15+++ bottles haha!)

In terms of face masks, I’m a big fan of the Sephora sheet masks – specifically the lip masks. As we don’t have Sephoras here these aren’t products I use particularly regularly, but it feels like a real treat when I do. The lip masks especially work wonders and leave my lips feeling moisturised, plumped and nourished.

Finally, have you heard about the carbonated bubble clay masks? They’re quite hilarious to use because they literally grow and foam further and further out – so you end up looking like an actual moss monster from the depths of the sea ahahahah. Aside from how great you look when wearing this face mask, it’s really quite moisturising and my skin usually thanks me for wearing this.

Have you used any of these products? What are your current skincare loves?

Liz Earle is great, is the most awarded cleanser and is great it’s for all skin types! The best thing I’ve found for breakouts is La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo, it really, really works and is often on money off deals! I found a lot of other salicylic products for teenage skin to be way too harsh and cause my skin to come out in a rash. Also I seem to be allergic to most micellar waters apart from the Simple one. The bubble mask sounds good, would like to try that! ☺

I love the Garnier micellat water also. I’m on my 3rd bottle. I like the Body Shop cleanser too. I’d like to try the Liz Earle products. I don’t think we have them in the U.S ?
