Loella girl on fire brushes | Review

Hello my lovelies! I’ve recently been trying out the Loella girl on fire brush collection* and I wanted to have a chat with you about them. I’ve been using them every day for a little while now and I feel like I’ve got a good round-up of the best brushes of the bunch and the company overall. (*Hint* there are some serious gems here!)

Firstly I have to note these brushes are 100% vegan and cruelty free, which is a massive seller for me and I know will be for a bunch of you guys. The complete set retails for £49.95 and you can buy it here – although you can also buy the brushes singularly. The brushes have the cutest names alongside them – like Eye candy Emily and Contour diva Caty, how cute!

I decided to use these brushes by going the whole hog and doing my whole face of makeup using only this brush set through my trial. I also stuck to the same makeup products I’ve used time and time again to make sure I got a good feel for the brushes. One of my favourites is the foundation one – it’s so soft (as they all are to be fair!) and applies like a dream. The buffing brush has the perfect amount of slack – just stiff enough to properly buff and blend your makeup but still keeps a good movement – it’s fab, and the angle of contour diva Caty is perfecttt to contour and bronze. I usually buff out my contour a little but this disperses just the right amount so I don’t have to worry about buffing and blending too much.

I actually use the brow brush as more of a blended liner/under eye-eyeshadow applicator. I like my brow brushes to be really stiff to get those details so for me this is too thick and slack, however using it for liner and under eyes it’s really good. I tend not to use lip brushes too often so I can’t comment on how these apply compared to their competition, but the eyeshadow brushes absolutely rival the likes of MAC and Zoeva – the quality is just as good. Pairing eye candy Emily and blend me beautiful Betty it’s really easy to get a perfectly blended fading eyeshadow look, which is such a time saver and looks just amazing.

Overall I’ve really enjoyed using this brush set – thank you so much Loella! They’re obviously beautiful, I don’t need to say that, but in terms of quality they’re absolutely amazing. My favourite brushes are the foundation, buffing, contour and eyeshadow brushes. I know full well I’ll use them day in day out now.
