Hello you lovelies! If you read my 2018 resolutions post, you’ll know one of my points was to work on my house this year. After moving in with my boyfriend Jack mid-2017, we’ve been slowly accumulating the necessary stuff (and sometimes not so necessary – hello bar, 😉 ) but haven’t been worrying too much about the decorations yet. A student budget and a big plain house to decorate just doesn’t equate to success lels, but success is on ze way.
Over the past couple of weeks I’ve been working on my living room, and I want to talk you through the little things I’ve added. So first up me and Jack wallpapered a feature wall with this pretty snazz brick design – it’s 3D textured stuff so it looks pretty realistic (other than one part I slightly screwed up lols.) It’s such a nice base for the room to layer on top of. These shelves are from eBay for only £79 which is actually such a good deal compared to the similar ones I’ve found. The lamp was super cheap from Ikea as with the pictures on top which cost £3.95 each, we’ve filled them with Iceland pictures and added a sneaky bit of black sand between. The portrait is from a great guy my mum found on Instagram – @david_j_mitchell – check him out as his work is fab.
The bar is looking cheeky as ever and we’ve added to its décor with the flamingo light addition – a Christmas present from my sisters boyfriend which is just AMAZING. I’m loving everything we’ve done so far and I’m really in the swing of getting some more home improvements underway, we’re finally going to get curtains up in our room soon and we have some more things on the way. I’ve also got my eye on some new exterior doors in the future – when it comes to choosing bifold doors I’ve got my eye on this company, you can personalise the colours and hardware and they look so cute! Keep an eye on the blog for more house updates as we go!
